What is Antaranews?

Antaranews is an Indonesian news agency that was established in December, 1937. The first edition of the newspaper was published on 22 December, 1938.

The first issue was a very small one, but with the passage of time, the newspaper grew and became a major newspaper in Indonesia. In the 1980s, the newspaper began to deliver news reports and articles that were not only about politics, but also about other topics.

In the 1990s, the government of Indonesia began to implement the media law of Indonesia. The law stated that all media in the country should be under the sole supervision of the government. This law was implemented in the name of freedom of speech and the press, but many journalists felt that this was not the real reason for the law. The real reason was to control the media and to promote the government's policies.

After the implementation of the law, many media organizations began to close down. The law also stated that any media organization that had an income of more than three million dollars a year was prohibited from being registered as a media organization.
